UK updates trade envoy responsibilities in Ghana, Algeria and Southern Africa

On 20 January 2026 the UK Department for Business and Trade announced new trade envoys and extended portfolios for some serving envoys. The update listed responsibilities covering Ghana, Algeria, South Africa and Mauritius. Trade envoys promote bilateral commercial engagement and help identify barriers and partnerships; appointments are not direct financial opportunities.
